Ugghh, yes...burned but helped heal. My dad also mixed up vodka/orange juice/sugar to cure my sore throat. It's a wonder I didn't get addicted, as I used to like it. Turpentine...my mom give it to me with a bit of sugar...hated it; she said it killed worms. Also had to take Scott's Emulsion (cod liver oil).
